It would be very handy to have the ability to add custom fields to the study specimen object. Are there any plans afoot to add this functionality?

This is a good idea, so I've entered the following issue to track this request:

It probably won't make it into 2.1, since we don't have a sponsor yet, but this way we can make sure the request doesn't get lost.
