Hi,

I am new to LabKey and am going through the data management tutorials. I am hoping to use LabKey to store some viral RNA sequence files and export selected sequences (somehow) to an analysis program.

I have created a project and a study, have uploaded numerous files including the LabKey Demo Files. But when I try to import a file from the file repository, nothing happens. The Begin Import, Show Assay Designer, and Cancel buttons don't do anything. I just sit on that page. Also I do get either an "error on page" or "Done" message in the status bar of Internet Explorer. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Hello,

It sounds like your browser may be hitting a JavaScript error. What version of Internet Explorer are you using? Have you tried with another browser to see if you get the same behavior (Firefox or Chrome, for example)?

What version of LabKey Server are you running?

It's also possible that there is an error happening on the server side. You can check the server log file by either locating the <TOMCAT_HOME>/logs/labkey.log file, or checking via Admin->Site->Admin Console->View Primary Site Log File. If you attach the contents of the log file as an attachment, we can take a look.

Thanks,
Josh

Thanks, Josh.

I didn't think it could be something as simple as the browser. I had out IT folks install Firefox and, sure enough, LabKey runs fine. (Good ol' Microsoft...)

Today I set up a Demo Study using the LabKey demo files and have added some of my sequence data. So far, so good...

Hello,

Our aim is to provide support for IE6 and higher, though we do find that other browsers offer a much better user experience. If you let us know what IE version you have installed, we can try to reproduce the problem and make the fix.

Thanks,
Josh
